Presenting Insight on Attachment- an integrative program for families experiencing attachment related difficulties. 

Please join us for this 16-week intensive group designed to assist families improve their ability to communicate, problem solve and self regulate.

Insight on Attachment is a collaboration of neuro-feedback, biofeedback, group, family and individual therapy presented over 16 weeks. Through the use of biofeedback, self-regulation, mindfulness, expressive art therapy, and family system dynamics we will address the seven focus areas of the curriculum.

The goal of Insight on Attachment is to assist the adolescent (ages 13-17) and their parents in understanding and building attachment, improving communication skills, and processing unresolved issues. During the first group – your child will receive a QEEG (Brain Imaging.)  The QEEG will evaluate how the brain is functioning and serves to increase the child’s self-awareness.

The program will include – three therapeutic sessions per week.

16 group sessions for parents

16 family therapy sessions – families are required to attend a minimum of 8 sessions.

QEEG – brain imaging done on the first and last session- will provide your child insight into how their brain is functioning and why they use certain behaviors.

The program also includes neurofeedback, biofeedback, expressive art therapy and skill building in the areas of - self regulation, mindfulness and communication.

Groups will meet twice a week in the afternoon.

 

This group is presented by Cameron Allen – QEEG and Neurofeedback specialist and Trysh Huntington- Buchan, MA LMFT. Cameron and Trysh, both have extensive experience in working with this population and their families.  They both share an interest in assisting adoptive and non- adoptive families navigate the challenges that can be presented during the teen years.

Cameron lives in Waynesville with his wife and son. They enjoy living in the home that they recently built together and spending time in nature. He is a mushroom farmer and inventor.

Trysh lives in Asheville and enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs. During their free time – they can be found riding mountain bikes on trails spanning from Western North Carolina to British Columbia.
